What is Your “Why” and Why Does it Matter?

Building solid relationships is the key to recruiting success. People enjoy working with others that they not only trust but are in alignment with. And the best way they can tell if there is alignment is by seeing who you are as a leader. The best way to showcase who you are as a leader is by leveraging social media!

Through social media, you can expand your network to make it easier to find your ideal recruit. However, merely having an account or engaging is not enough. To truly foster meaningful connections, it is essential to understand and articulate your “Why” – your purpose, your passion, and the driving force behind your actions.

Discovering Your “Why”

Your “Why” is the fundamental reason that inspires and motivates you daily. It is the core essence of who you are and what you believe in. Discovering your “Why” will involve soul-searching by exploring your values, strengths, and aspirations. What makes you tick? What morals do you live by? It is a process of self-reflection that unveils the true purpose behind your actions. 

Whatever your “Why” may be, it should be authentic and deeply connected to your values and beliefs.

For example, my “Why” is helping others. I can live that out through my work by providing coaching and mentorship around social media and marketing. Someone who works in the mortgage industry may fill their cup by helping others achieve their dream of homeownership. For the stay-at-home mom, the family may be her “Why.” It will be individual to you.

Understanding your “Why” holds immense power to help you build relationships throughout your career because it helps you connect with others on a deeper level. Here is how:

A job should go beyond numbers and transactions.
