What Is Your Idea Worth? Get On With It!

This photo of the Wright brothers launching one of their first gliders perfectly captures the intersection of ideas and implementation. I am reminded that taking action is the only way we achieve success. While everything begins on the one way street called “Idea” it is simply a collection of thoughts unless it is combined with execution. Simply put, YOUR IDEA ALONE ISN’T WORTH ANYTHING!

Several years ago I spent 3 months working through an idea/epiphany I had in creating a system around branch loan officer recruiting. What came from those 3 months of idea creation and planning was strong methodology on how to recruit and grow. What followed was enormous growth that became predictable when the system was followed. That system is something I get to share with branch managers today and it is changing how they go about growing their market and brand. But that idea would have meant nothing had I not put in the time, effort and energy to create a system and execute on that system.

If you struggle recruiting I would encourage you to reach out so I can walk you through my system. I share it every chance I get as I remember the words of Thomas Jefferson, “He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.”

Perhaps you have a great idea. If so then I encourage you to act on it. Ideas not acted on within 24 hours are typically lost forever. No more excuses! Do it or don’t do it but don’t make excuses. Stop creating rationalizations and justifications for not taking action. Do something! Do anything! It’s your choice, your life, it’s up to you to decide.

What is the one idea you are willing to share that you will act on today?
